Is There A Support Network Available?
Treating the disease is only one facet of patient care at the Hackensack Meridian Health Brain Tumor Program. We have a wide range of specialists and services to help patients and families cope with the challenges of battling a serious illness.
Patients, survivors and their families can find help through the Monmouth and Ocean County Brain Tumor Support Group. Led by nurses who specialize in neurology and neurosurgery, as well as social workers, participants can share their fears and concerns in a safe and friendly environment. Starting in January, 2014, The Monmouth/Ocean County Support Group will meet regularly at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. To get more information on current and future meeting dates, times, etc., please call 800-560-9990.
In addition the unique Nurse Navigation Program at the Hackensack Meridian Health Brain Tumor Program enlists the support of highly trained nursed to help coordinate a patient’s journey through the treatment process, including education, social service aid, and insurance matters.
