Stereotactic Biopsy

Should you require a biopsy, stereotactic needle biopsy is a less invasive alternative to the traditional surgical method. This X-ray guided needle biopsy procedure uses computer imagery to direct the needle to remove a small portion of breast tissue. This is a relatively short process conducted on an outpatient basis by a trained physician who is assisted by a mammography technologist. The results of the biopsy are usually available within 24 hours.
