JERSEY SHORE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER TO HOST OSTOMY SUPPORT GROUP

Neptune, NJ - Are you or someone you know dealing with ostomy concerns? There has been a renewed interest in the creation of a support group for ostomates and their family members in the Monmouth and Ocean county area. The Wound Care Department at Jersey Shore University Medical Center has planned a meeting for Thursday, August 7th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. place in Lance Auditorium at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, 1945 Route 33 in Neptune. Light refreshments will be served.

The purpose of this meeting is to determine if there is enough interest to create a site-specific support group or a system-wide support group, with a possible rotation of meeting sites. The focus of this support group is to provide both emotional support and useful information. If interested please contact Valerie Peabody, Program Coordinator, in the Comprehensive Wound Care Center at 732-776-4430 or at vpeabody@meridianhealth.com so that an estimate of how many people to expect can be developed.

Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a member of the Meridian Health family, is a not-for-profit university teaching and home to the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital – the first children’s hospital in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Jersey Shore University Medical Center specializes in cardiac care and surgery, orthopedics and rehabilitation, cancer care, and advanced women’s and children’s health services.
