Requesting Patient Information

Patient Conditions may be obtained during regular business hours by contacting the public relations manager at the hospital you are inquiring about, and after hours and on weekends, by calling the main hospital number and asking to speak with the nursing supervisor. Our nursing supervisors are trained and prepared to quickly respond to a reporter's request for patient conditions after hours, however are unable to provide any additional information beyond a one-word condition. Any additional questions or needs you may have should be directed to the public relations manager.

In regards to requesting a patient condition, our practice is always to provide the media with accurate and timely information whenever possible. However, we also ask you to appreciate our responsibilities to follow federal and state regulations protecting our patient's right to privacy.

In those special cases when we are unable to provide information regarding our patients either by their request or because it may be in the best interests of the patient's health and safety, we please ask that you appreciate our position as health care providers, and as such, the health, safety, and privacy of our patients must remain our top priority.

Meridian Health adheres to the patient condition standards mutually established by the New Jersey Press Association and the New Jersey Hospital Association.
