Candidates from APA accredited clinical, counseling, and school doctoral programs are accepted for consideration of the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Predoctoral Internship in Professional Psychology. Candidates should have at least two semesters of practicum experience in psychotherapy, and assessment experience consisting of the equivalent of five psychological batteries. Assessment experience should include areas of projective, objective, and cognitive evaluation.

Applications for the internship program require the following:

  • A cover letter indicating the candidate's training, and area(s) of interest regarding internship training.
  • A letter of readiness submitted by the graduate school's program director.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Graduate program transcripts.
  • A curriculum vita.
  • Completed APPIC (Parts I & II) application form.

All applications are carefully reviewed and interviews are extended to top candidates. Minority students are strongly encouraged to apply. Interviews are mandatory and are considered an important factor in the intern selection process. Interviews are usually conducted during the second week of January. Please note no exceptions will be made to individuals who cannot attend interviews on selected dates in January.
