Salary & Benefits

Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Division of Meridian Hospitals Corporation, provides health-related benefits, including medical, dental, prescription drugs, vision, long-term disability and life insurance through the Meridian Partnership Benefits Program.

Also included in the program are elective spending accounts for uncovered medical charges and dependent care. Residents are eligible to participate as of the first (1st) day of their appointment. Detailed information regarding the Benefits Program can be obtained from the Benefits Coordinator in the Human Resources Department.

of Employment
JSUMC Upon Hire Copies of The House Staff Manual which sets forth all the terms and conditions of employment will be provided at Orientation.
Paid Time Off JSUMC Upon Hire 20 Vacation Days, 2 Personal Days, 8 Sick Days available with approval of Program Director.
Legal Holidays JSUMC Upon Hire 6 paid, legal holidays in accordance with JSUMC's published holiday schedule. Residents who are required to work on a published holiday are entitled to compensatory time within 30 days of the holiday, as mutually agreed between Resident and Program Director.

Upon Hire Meridian Partnership Benefits Program for house staff and dependents affords maximum flexibility in choosing comprehensive benefits tailored to individual needs. House Staff subsidizes 10% of premium for plan of choice. Meridian subsidizes 90%.

JSUMC Upon Hire Coverage provided for all actions occurring as part of JSUMC's residency program and covered under JSUMC's professional liability insurance carrier. Moonlighting outside the Institution is NOT covered. Limits of Liability: $1 million per occurrence/$3 million aggregate.

Living Quarters JSUMC Upon Hire On-call residents are provided secure, convenient in-hospital quarters for rest and relaxation.
Parking JSUMC Upon Hire Parking is free in the Hospital employee parking lot (THE NORTH LOT).
Child Care You Upon Hire Child care may be available at The Growing Corner. Complete programs for children from age 2 months, including educational programs for children to 12 years of age.
Wellness Program You Upon Hire On-site health and fitness center available at reduced rates for residents.
