Our department's goal is to be the best academic community-based OB-GYN residency program in the United States, providing excellence in education; and compassionate, state-of-the-art patient care. We are committed to providing our residents with the knowledge, expertise, and support to become compassionate, well-rounded specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology. We offer a friendly, collegial program with outstanding learning opportunities.

Our Residency Review Committee-approved program provides education in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. Residents participate in all deliveries at JSUMC, which average over 2,000 a year, with gynecological training that includes complete care of patients with all medical and surgical gynecological conditions. The ambulatory care experience provides clinical exposure ranging from acute problems in the emergency room to routine gynecological care including family planning, pediatric gynecology, health prevention for women at all stages of life, and care for postmenopausal woman.

Residents rotate through all of the OB-GYN specialties at Jersey Shore Univerisity Medical Center, including: Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrine and Infertility, and Urogynecology, with board-certified faculty. Clinical Research is encouraged.

The program size facilitates close working relationships between faculty and residents. We are in full compliance with ACGME work hour requirements, which allows our residents time to enjoy our resort community. Residents practice medicine under the guidance and supervision of the experienced, board certified faculty physicians, with Physician Competencies stressed as core the educational program.
