18th Annual Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations’ Gala
The Eighteenth Annual Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations’ Gala, Building a Better Future, took place on Saturday, November 21 at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch. This signature fundraising event raised over $720,000, a record in the event’s 18-year history, which will benefit Meridian's not-for-profit hospitals and community health programs in both Monmouth and Ocean counties.
The Gala honored Mrs. Emily Hovnanian while celebrating the tenth anniversary of the transformational gift Emily and her late husband Kevork made to Meridian to name K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. The Hovnanians’ historic gift continues to have a profound impact on our community, ensuring access to advanced pediatric clinical care services for our youngest patients.2015 Meridian Health Gala – In Honor of Emily Hovnanian

On July 6, under the direction of event chair Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs, Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation hosted its thirty-second annual Sports Classic Golf Tournament at the Deal Golf and Country Club and Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, NJ.
The sold-out event raised a record-breaking $295,000 and proceeds supported cardiovascular programs and other areas of greatest need at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In 2014, more than 800 cardiac surgeries were performed at Meridian, ranking among the highest volumes in New Jersey and New York. Jersey Shore University Medical Center is a recognized leader in the region, offering the most complete range of heart and vascular services – from prevention and diagnosis to advanced surgery, rehabilitation through recovery.
K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital hosted its Superhero Soiree event at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank, NJ on Friday, April 17. Professional soccer star and spokesperson for the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Christie Rampone presented the hospital’s Junior Ambassadors with the Hometown Hero Award. The superhero-themed fundraiser, generously sponsored by the Walter R. Earle Corporation, raised more than $140,000 in support of the children’s hospital, and attracted nearly 200 guests.
Inspired by the everyday heroes at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital – including kids, families and caregivers – the celebration was a fun evening with a serious mission. Proceeds from the event will support the expanding Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) and Maternity Units. Construction will soon begin on a 13-bassinet NICU expansion, featuring nine private rooms and two twin rooms, bringing the total NICU capacity to 34 bassinets. The maternity unit will also see a nine room expansion to provide additional delivery capacity. These important expansion projects will ensure growing families in the area have access to the health care services they need, close to home.
During the event’s paddle pledge, several generous guests donated an incredible $106,200 to fund NICVIEW webcams for the expanding NICU. The NICVIEW system enables webcam monitoring of newborns from anywhere in the world. This new technology gives parents and families extended viewing access to the NICU, even if they can’t physically be at the hospital visiting their loved one(s).
