About Our Trauma Prevention Programs
Trauma care starts with prevention. Our professionals work to identify injury trends, and develop educational programs to help keep our communities safe and injury free. These programs are offered throughout our region, free of charge.

Community Education Programs Available
Our professionals offer a wide variety of programs to our communities:
- Drinking and distracted driving to new drivers and their parents
Program covers the sequence of events involved in a car crash, as well as specific care and treatment rendered at the Trauma Center. The impact of distracted behaviors and prevention strategies are discussed. Available to schools, parent groups, community groups, and scouting organizations. - Fall prevention programs for active seniors
Program covers safety tips and suggestions to decrease the risk for accidental falls. Focus is placed on the active senior community, with specific risk prevention strategies. Available to senior communities, clubs, social groups, and community centers. - Child passenger safety programs for children, parents and caretakers
Programs discuss importance of child passenger safety strategies in order to encourage safe transport of all of our children. Available to schools, day cares, parent groups, community centers and groups, and scouting organizations. - Helmet safety for school-aged groups
Program covers safety issues of all wheeled sports, and are tailored to the specific age group. Available to schools, day cares, community centers and groups, scouting organizations, and boys and girls clubs.
Health care Provider Programs Available
- Trauma education for EMT's and paramedics
Monthly trauma lectures presented by physicians, physician assistants, nurses, paramedics, and other health care professionals. Topics cover a wide range of issues relevant to current trauma practice. - Trauma Triage and Transport
Offered free of charge at your location. This course was developed by the State of New Jersey Department of Health and the Trauma Center Council, to ensure consistent and appropriate disposition of the trauma patient. - A variety of trauma specific classes have been developed for the EMS community and are available free of charge. Elective CEU's can be provided.
