Gastrointestinal Oncology
About Our Gastrointestinal Oncology Program
Jersey Shore's surgical gastrointestinal (GI) oncology team is able to provide our community with the most innovative procedures available, including minimally invasive colon surgery, colonoscopy, genetic counseling, and clinical trials. Our newly installed endoscopic ultrasound unit makes it possible to visualize as well as remove any abnormal cells which may prevent additional procedures.
The Gastrointestinal Cancer Program also serves as a resource for our physicians who have patients with cancer, or the possibility of cancer, of the GI tract. Our specialists — surgeons, gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, oncology nurses, oncology counselors, radiation oncologists, radiation technologists, and research staff — attend the program's meetings to participate in the decision-making process by offering their expertise and providing support to the physicians.
