Nursing at Jersey Shore

Welcome from the Chief Nursing Officer

Richard HaderDear Colleague,

As the first system in the country to achieve Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Meridian Health has been hailed as a national leader in the delivery of quality nursing care. The recognition would not be possible without the contributions of staff nurses, educators, advanced practice nurses, researchers, and managers.

The nurses of Meridian Health have achieved great success. Almost half of our nearly 2,000 nurses are nationally certified in their area of clinical specialty. Many of our staff has received local, state, national, and international recognition and awards for their contributions to nursing practice, research, and education.

Meridian Health is a great place to work. Our vacancy rate is less than 1% because of the many innovative programs and partnerships we have created for our staff. We are committed to service our patients and to provide the best work environment for our nurses.

Our philosophy is clear: patient-centered care delivered by clinically expert practitioners, supported by education, research, and a work environment which values my opinions and allows me to practice to the highest levels of quality. Our interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to care is why we are recognized by the outstanding care that is delivered to our patients.

I am proud to work at Meridian because achieving excellence is ingrained in the culture. Doing your best in an environment that expects high standards is most fulfilling. We have the best workplace, best team, and deliver the best care to all of the communities in New Jersey.

Sincerely yours,

Richard Hader, R.N., Ph.D., FAAN
Senior Vice President
Chief Nursing Officer
