They also come as second year medical students for Introduction to Clinical Medicine, and as seniors for sub-internships and electives.

Jersey Shore has state-of-the-art information systems including sophisticated physician workstations and an outstanding health sciences library. Web access and evidence-based medicine databases are available from anywhere on the campus. Patient records are maintained on-line in a longitudinal medical record, thereby facilitating access to information.

All patient orders are entered directly into the computer system (CPOE) by residents using a system that incorporates decision support software. Evidence-based medicine is incorporated into order sets that help to standardize care and foster learning. Personal order sets can be constructed to ease physician order entry. Remote access to all information technology systems facilitates follow up on patients from off-site locations such as home or ambulatory care office.

Each department has committed full time and part time academic faculty members dedicated to resident education and supervision.
