Vein Surgery

Varicose veins are unsightly and often painful. When left untreated, there’s a good chance that the condition will worsen. In the past, treatment options often cause more pain than the condition itself, requiring surgery, anesthesia, hospital stays, and excess scar tissue. Today, innovative and minimally-invasive techniques have been developed to effectively treat and eliminate varicose veins.

About Varicose Veins

By their very nature, varicose veins will get larger over time. Small spider veins start out as minor cosmetic problems but many enlarge, branch out to become tender and disfiguring. As veins increase in size and number, they often cause aches, pain, swelling, and possible blood clots. In severe cases, skin changes can occur resulting in brownish discoloration, ulcers, bleeding and infection.

Treatment Plan

A personalized treatment plan will be developed to provide patients with options that offer minimal pain, minimal scarring and fastest recovery time. Most treatment options are performed in the office and take no longer than one hour. More complex treatments are performed at Jersey Shore’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. Treatment options include:
  • Sclerotherapy
  • Phlebectomy
  • Endovenous Ablation
  • Ligation and Stripping
