Gold Recognition by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Organ Donor Enrollment
Hackensack Meridian Health is part of a national hospital campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) promoting achievement for enrollment in state organ donor registries.
Of the 995 hospitals and transplant centers participating in the campaign, Bayshore Community Hospital, HackensackUMC Mountainside, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center received gold level recognition.
Hackensack University Medical Center received platinum level recognition. Silver level was presented to HackensackUMC Palisades, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, and HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley attained bronze level recognition.
Meridian Health are the first in the region to have received the prestigious Magnet award, which is bestowed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the nation's largest and foremost nursing accrediting and credentialing organization.

Jersey Shore University Medical Center ranks as a high-performing hospital for the treatments/conditions of heart bypass surgery, heart failure, COPD and hip replacement, according to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for Common Care 2015-16 ratings.
Jersey Shore is the only hospital in Monmouth and Ocean counties to receive high performing recognition for heart bypass surgery and COPD.
Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care
In August of 2013, Meridian was honored with the highest designated Chest Pain Center Accreditation by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), a global not-for-profit organization committed to leading the fight to eliminate heart disease as the number one cause of death worldwide. As the only health care system in New Jersey to receive this recognition, Meridian distinguishes itself as providing the best care available for patients who present with symptoms of a heart attack.
Jersey Shore University Medical Center has been designated by J.D. Power and Associates as a Distinguished Hospital for Inpatient Services (2006) and received the New Jersey Governor's Award for Performance Excellence (2005).
